Hospice and Palliative Care of the Wood River Valley is seeking a compassionate, talented, and experienced full-time Executive Director to join our team in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho. Our nonprofit, community-based organization has a 37-year history of excellence in home care. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families by providing hospice support without the constraints of Medicare, this is a great job opportunity for you. Job Description:

  • Supervise and provide all aspects of patient care and activities of professional staff and volunteers on a daily basis. The ED (or alternate designee) must be available on-site during business hours, by telephone when offsite, and after hours as needed
  • Hire and manage employees, formulate work schedules, give advice about medications and care, and receive daily reports from staff so that hospice services are properly provided to every client
  • Act as liaison between staff, patients, and the Wood River Hospice Board of Directors
  • Manage the business and financial affairs and offer periodic financial reports
  • Attend meetings of Board of Directors and carry out its management decisions and directives
  • Determine existing legal requirements that apply to the delivery of hospice and palliative care services, and take all reasonable steps to assure compliance with such requirements
  • Formulate and implement programs and educational programs that assure hospice and palliative care services are available and known to the community and other health care providers
  • Help to assure continuing fundraising and community engagement

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Physician or Licensed Registered Nurse preferred, but will consider Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with leadership experience in a hospice, home health, or other health care delivery system
  • Must have proven experience and understanding of hospice and palliative care
  • Develop and manage budget
  • Fundraising skills
  • Demonstrate ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel
  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft hardware and Electronic Medical Record system
  • Current Driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle
  • Fully vaccinated by date of hire and pass a background check
